East 3-Shrines & SAWARA TRAVELaccess
A certain month in 2020…I had a little work in Chiba prefecture for two
days in a row.
So I decided to travel in my spare time.
On the 1st day, I went to work after visiting the East 3-Shrines(東国三社/TOUGOKU-SAN-SYA).
And I decided to stay in SAWARA town that day.
On the 2nd day, I dropped by SHISUI Outlet Park and then visited the National
Museum Of Japanese History...And I went to work...
By the way...Especially Sawara is close to Narita Airport, so I think it's
a good idea to stop by when you arrive or depart.
※East 3-Shrines(東国三社/TOUGOKU-SAN-SYA)…It's 3 famous shrines(KASHIMA JINGU,
KATORI JINGU and IKISU JINJA) about 100km away from Central TOKYO.

TRAVEL STORY
I left home early in the morning before 5 o'clock.
On the way, after taking a nap at the roadside station for about an hour, I arrived at KATORI JINGU SHIREIN about 9 o'clock.
Of course, the precincts of KATORI JINGU SHIREIN are large.
his is CHOZUSYA(手水舎) where we wash our hands before worshiping.
However...HISYAKU(cassotte) is not placed as a countermeasure for COVID-19.
The water continued to flow...and it took the form of purifying our hands
like washing our hands from the faucet.
This is the main shrine.
These are the scenery around the main shrine.
Deer are bred when you go to the back of the main shrine.
Furthermore, there is a KANAME-ISHI(要石/keystone) behind it.
This stone is said to calm the earthquake.
Finally, I visit OKU-NO-IN(deep shrine) and return to the parking.
Before I left, I ate DANGO(dumplings) at the restaurant in front of the shrine.
The name of this restaurant is KIKKODO(亀甲堂)...And price is 450yen.
I drove for about 40 minutes and went to IKISU Shrine.
This CHOZUSYA(手水舎) was also left flowing.
IKISU Shrine was smaller than KATORI JINGU shirein.
This is the main shrine.
It takes about 20 minutes by car from IKISU Shrine to reach KASHIMA JINGU Shrine.
I walk the approach.
I clean my hands in a CHOZUSYA(手水舎) without a cassotte.
Through the Shinto gate.
Arrived at the main shrine.
Strictly speaking, the building in the back of the photo above is the main shrine.
We can see the main shrine a little as if we look from the left end.
It was also equipped with old-fashioned dolls wishing for the early termination
of the COVID-19
This doll is called OOSUKE-DOLL(大助人形).
It was said that the "old custom" was practiced until about 50 years ago.
Actually...I had a warking in this area a few days ago and visited KASHIMA JINGU at night, but the OOSUKE-DOLL at night was a little scary.
In addition, KASHIMA JINGU at night was like this, and there was a different atmosphere at night
|
Go back in time―
At night, I can only go to the main shrine, and proceed to the back of KASHIMA JINGU, which I couldn't go a few days ago.
There was a deer in KASHIMA JINGU
KASHIMA JINGU is written as “鹿島神宮” in Japanese KANJI...“鹿” means deer.
It seems that there is a general reason that "a deer appears as a messenger of God in mythology."
I will walk further to visit OKU-NO-IN(deep shrine).
そI pray for the "KANAME-ISHI(要石/keystone) " behind it.
Even if you compare it easily, you can easily see the similarities between KATORI JINGU and KASHIMA JINGU...
Finally, I visited a pond called MITARAI Pond and headed to the working
area.
After finishing my work, I checked in at a HOTEL HOUSEN in SAWARA.
I was thinking of staying at an old inn with an atmosphere that I had stayed at several times.
Unfortunately, the inn was closed and turned into a set meal restaurant.
So I decided to stay at this hotel...
This is the room.
I made a reservation on a Japanese travel site called JALAN(じゃらん).
The price was discounted by 500 yen with a coupon, and the accommodation fee was 5,500 yen(including breakfast).
In addition, there was a souvenir gift by the CHIBA Prefecture campaign.
This is the content of the gift
After a little desk work...
I went for a walk to the historical area of SAWARA for dinner before sunset.
I decided to have dinner at this restaurant that I had been interested
in for a long time.
But before that, I bought beer at a liquor store and had a little cool
evening.
After the sun goes down...
I will enter that restaurant
The name of this restaurant is WORDSWORTH, which is an Italian restaurant.
I also talked to an elderly couple who were close to each other at this restaurant.
WORDSWORTH has its head office in Kamisu and opened in Sawara about 10 years ago.
Also, the owner of the inn I was trying to stay at was getting older, and now he has opened the child pork cutlet shop.
In addition, the old Inn's owner became older and thirer child opened a TONKATSU(pork cutlet) restruant now.
The counter is small...Avout 4〜5 seats.
Arugula salad
Spaghetti
I ordered spaghetti, arugula salad, beer, and ginger soda(liquor) for 3,520 yen.
And Actually...The couple got me 2beers...hahaha...
Eat the hotel breakfast well.
I checked out...And I went to SHISUI Premium Outlet Park.
I didn't have a chance to go here either.
I wanted to go there once, so I stopped by.
By the way, I bought a white sweatshirt for HENRO(pilgrimage) at GAP.
The next destination is...
This is it.
I've heard before that "SAKURA's National Museum of Japanese History is amazing".
I've always been interested, so I decided to go...Anyway, the impression
is huge!!!
I've been watching it seriously since Prehistoric Times.
But after waching of Ancient Times, I began to think "not enough time..."
from this Medieval exhibit.
The area of the Early Modern Period is also large.
I will go out once...
This is the Folk Area.
There is a more Modern Area.
Finally there is a Postmodern Area.
There was GODZILLA at the exit and the exhibition was over.
When I was watching it seriously, I thought, "Isn't it taking half a day or a day?"
Because it's on display from pit dwellings to GODZILLA...!?
I think it's interesting enough just to look at the exhibits without reading the explanation.
The admission fee is 600yen, but I could enter at 350yen with a JAF member discount.
Before I went to work, I dropped by an RAMEN restaurant that had some enthusiastic
fans.
The restaurant name is ARIRANG RAMEN “HACHIBEI-NO-SYOKUDO”.
I ordered the CHAR-SIU-MEN-NOODLES(roasted pork noodles) and Rice(total
1300yen).
Actually, this was my second visit to here.
The CHAR-SIU(roasted pork) is delicious with the garlic soup and goes very well with the rice.
In my opinion, I had the impression that I wanted to halve the noodles and eat a lot of rice.
In the extreme, I don't need noodles.
And I went to work....<END>
